Lunyu VII. 1. (151)

Confucius disclaims being an originator or maker.
The Master said, "A transmitter and not a maker, believing in and loving the ancients, I venture to compare myself with our old P'ang."

Legge VII.1.

The Master said, 'I transmit but do not innovate; I am truthful in what I say and devoted to antiquity. I venture to compare myself to your Old P'eng.'

Lau [7:1]

Je me permets de me comparer à notre vieux P'eng.
