Daxue 
– The Great Learning

Confucius' text, Zengzi's comments on illustrious virtue, renovation of the people, the highest excellence, the root and the branches, investigation of things, having the thoughts sincere, the rectification of the mind, the regulation of the family, the well-ordering of the State, making the whole kingdom peaceful and happy.
Zengzi's Tenth Commentary
On the well-ordering of the State, and making the whole kingdom peaceful and happy.
Daxue XI. 14.
It is only the truly virtuous man who can send away such a man and banish him, driving him out among the barbarous tribes around, determined not to dwell along with him in the Middle Kingdom. This is in accordance with the saying, It is only the truly virtuous man who can love or who can hate others.
Legge X. 15.
只有仁德的人能够把这种人驱逐出境，流放到落后地区去，不同中原诸国人民在一地。这叫做只有仁德的人能够爱护好人，憎恶坏人。
白话翻译
L'homme vertueux et plein d'humanité peut seul éloigner de lui de tels hommes, et les rejeter parmi les barbares des quatre extrémités de l'empire, ne leur permettant pas d'habiter dans le royaume du milieu.
Cela veut dire que l'homme juste et plein d'humanité seul est capable d'aimer et de haïr convenablement les hommes.
Pauthier X. 14.
Seul l'homme de haute vertu peut évincer de tels gens des charges de l'Empire et les rejeter vers les contrées barbares. Ainsi, il est dit que « seul l'homme de haute vertu sait bien aimer et bien haïr. »
