Lunyu II. 19. (35)

How a prince by the right employment of his officers may secure the real submission of his subjects.
The Duke Âi asked, saying, "What should be done in order to secure the submission of the people?" Confucius replied, "Advance the upright and set aside the crooked, then the people will submit. Advance the crooked and set aside the upright, then the people will not submit."

Legge II.19.

Duke Ai asked, 'What must I do before the common people will look up to me?'
Confucius answered, 'Raise the straight and set them over the crooked and the common people will look up to you. Raise the crooked and set them over the straight and the common people will not look up to you.'

Lau [2:19]

Ngai, prince de Lou1, dit à Confucius : « Que doit faire un prince pour que le peuple soit content ? » Maître K'ong répondit : « Si le prince élève aux charges les hommes vertueux et écarte tous les hommes vicieux, le peuple le soutiendra ; si le prince élève aux charges les hommes vicieux et écarte les hommes vertueux, le peuple ne se soumettra pas. »

Management :
Terdengar pepatah umumnya menyedihkan ‘Bagaimana membawakan sehingga masyarakat mau menerima'.
Konghucu menghadapinya dengan pepatah ‘Mengangkat secara langsung kerugian berbagai kekeliruan, selanjutnya masyarakat dapat menerima.
Mengangkat kekeliruan yang menyebabkan berbagai kerugian secara langsung, selanjutnya masyarakat tidak mau menerima'.

19. Pangeran Ai bertanya : "Bagaimanakah caranya agar rakyat mau menurut ?"
Kongzi menjawab : "Angkatlah orang yang jujur dan singkirkanlah orang yang curang; dengan demikian niscaya rakyat menurut. Kalau diangkat orang-orang yang curang dan disingkirkan orang yang jujur, niscaya rakyat tidak mau menurut".
