The Chün-tsze formed by intercourse with other Chün-tsze.
The Master said of Tsze-chien, "Of superior virtue indeed is such a man! If there were not virtuous men in Lû, how could this man have acquired this character?"

Legge V.2.

The Master's comment on Tzu-chien was 'What a gentleman this man is! If there were no gentlemen in Lu where could he have acquired his qualities?'

Le Maître dit de Tzeu tsien1 : « Quel homme honorable ! Si la principauté de Lou n'en comptait pas, où celui-ci aurait-il puisé un tel sens d'humanité ? »
