Confucius' text, Zengzi's comments on illustrious virtue, renovation of the people, the highest excellence, the root and the branches, investigation of things, having the thoughts sincere, the rectification of the mind, the regulation of the family, the well-ordering of the State, making the whole kingdom peaceful and happy.

The illustration of illustrious virtue.
Daxue II. 2.
In the Tai Jia, it is said, “He contemplated and studied the illustrious decrees of Heaven.”
Legge I. 2.
《大甲》上说：“经常念叨着这个上天赋予的善良天性。”
白话翻译
Le Tai kia dit : « Le roi Tching-thang avoit sans cesse les regards fixés sur ce don brillant de l'intelligence que nous recevons du ciel. »
Pauthier I. 2.
Dans le Tai Jia, il est écrit : « Surveiller et examiner les manifestations des ordonnances célestes. »
