The way of Heaven and Earth is large and substantial, high and brilliant, far-reaching and long-enduring.
Legge XXVI.8.
以天而论，在一处，只一线明亮罢了，积累至于无穷，日月星辰被它维系，万物被它覆盖。以地而论，在一处，只一撮土罢了，积累至于广大深厚，负载着华山、岳山而不觉得重，收容着江河海洋而不汇漏，万物都负载在它上面。以山而论，在一处，只一块土石罢了，积累至于广大，草木生长于山，禽兽栖息于山，宝物矿藏开发于山。以水而论，在一处，只一勺儿罢了，积累到无底无涯，鼋鳖、鼍鳄、蛟龙在那里产生长大，不少的财富货物也取自那里。
