The Master discusses with his disciples and unveil his preoccupations with society. Tr. Legge (en), Lau (en) and Couvreur (fr).

Lunyu V. 20. (112)

Prompt decision good.
Chî Wan thought thrice, and then acted. When the Master was informed of it, he said, "Twice may do."

Legge V.19.

Chi Wen Tzu always thought three times before taking action. When the Master was told of this, he commented, 'Twice is quite enough.'

Lau [5:20]

(Tchou Hsi)

Couvreur V.19.

20. Ji Wen-zi setelah tiga kali berpikir barulah berani melaksanakan hasratnya. Mendengar itu Nabi bersabda., "Cukup dua kali saja".
